EMERGENCY RESPONSE TO COVID-19 OUTBREAK
Washington State Supreme Court has adopted Order No. 25700-B-602 granting emergency authority to this Court to adopt, modify, and suspend court rules and orders, and to take further actions concerning court operations, as warranted to address the current state of emergency.

IMPORTANT COURTHOUSE INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19
Skagit County Superior Court is dedicated to providing the safest possible environment for its court users. Any person entering public spaces in the courthouse (lobbies, hallways, courtrooms, or offices of Superior Court) will be required to wear a face mask that adequately covers their nose and mouth. ADA requests will be considered and accommodated. Distancing requirements are also in place throughout the building.
Anyone who is sick or who has had close contact with a person diagnosed with or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 is ordered to remain home and attend their hearing remotely through phone and/or video. Superior Court and the Facilities Management Division of Skagit County are undertaking daily applications of disinfectant throughout the courthouse during the day and each evening. Additionally hand sanitizer dispensers are located at various locations throughout the courthouse.
INFORMATION FOR JURORS
ALL JURY TRIALS ARE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED THROUGH APRIL 2nd, 2021
If your jury service is scheduled to start on or before March 22, 2021, you are excused from service. For prospective jurors whose service begins on or after April 5, 2021, please call the jury line number listed on your summons after 5:00 p.m. on April 2, 2021 for more information about your jury service.
The Court takes your health and safety very seriously. If any prospective juror falls into a high-risk category for COVID-19 and wishes to be excused from jury service, that request should be made on the Jury Questionnaire and returned to the Court. Superior Court, in consultation with the health department, has remodeled a space to create a courtroom where physical distancing shall be observed at all times. Face masks will be provided for each day of a juror’s service. Hand sanitizer is also available throughout the courtroom. Additional information on your jury service is available here.

Non-Parental Custody Alert
The law regarding Non-Parental Custody, RCW 26.10, was repealed (no longer in effect) as of January 1, 2021. Pending Non-Parental Custody cases that have not been resolved or converted by June 30, 2021 will be dismissed on July 1, 2021. [more information]
